Lake Havasu City, Arizona - After years of drought and water conservation efforts, the city is finally ready to unveil its brand-new, state-of-the-art water treatment facility. This intake system includes a new methodology called the Lake Havasu Intake Tower. "The new system will be drawn from the lake floor at a considerable depth and monitored closely for quality and flow," Kanonce Alexander, an engineer at Parsons, the design firm responsible for the new intake, explains. By drawing water at this depth, they are able to avoid much of the lake's sediment and contaminants that often occur in the top layers.
